Brat Vocalist and Guitarist Get Engaged At Yellowstone National Park

0

MetalSucks is not usually the place where you go to hear about celebrity engagements — those are a dime a dozen on the internet these days… But when those “celebrities” are members of a powerviolence group rather than Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, then it’s kind of our job to cover it. TMZ certainly ain’t.

Grindcore/powerviolence/death metal quartet Brat are currently on an extensive American tour with the likes of M.D.C, D.I., and Bonginator following the release of their stellar debut album Social Grace on Prosthetic Records. During one of their off days, the band was spending a day in Yellowstone National Park when guitarist Brenner Moate proposed to vocalist Liz Selfish in the park. Selfish made an understated comment about the engagement on Instagram, saying:

“Off day in Yellowstone picked up a cool new rock”

Considering that Selfish went on to post pictures of the proposal on Instagram, I think it’s pretty safe to assume that she said yes. It would be a pretty cruel move to post pictures of a proposal you said no to on social media.

The comments section soon flooded with congratulations from fans and even the band’s record label. One fan, @atjagger, suggested they were looking forward to a circle pit at wedding. That does raise the question of what kind of wedding a powerviolence quartet actually pulls off. Will there, in fact, be a pit? Will Brat play the reception? Will the bride be wearing black? Inquiring minds would like to know.

If you’d like to offer your congratulations in person and throw down in the pit, you can catch Brat on their U.S. tour. There are only a few dates remaining, so be sure to check out the full list of dates below to see if they’re playing somewhere near you.
