THE KYUSS REUNION YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR?

I know that everyone and their mother would love to see a Kyuss reunion, but they’re one of those bands where you kinda hafta stop and consider: What would constitute a Kyuss reunion?

Take, for example, Kyuss Lives, a not-really-new band that will reunite 75% of Kyuss’ original Wretch and Blues for the Red Sun line-up. The missing member, in case you couldn’t figure it out right quick, will be Josh Homme, who will be replaced by some dude I’ve never heard of, Bruno Fevery.

But is this exciting news? I mean, it sort of is, right?

Sure, it would be great to have Homme in the band, but (in my opinion at least) he royally fucked-up Queens of the Stone Age when he kicked Nick Oliveri out of the band. And if this Fevery fella is good, well, maybe it doesn’t matter that this reunion is Hommeless.

On the other hand, if you’re like me, and the “Sky Valley” album was your introduction to Kyuss, well… then this is only 50% of the reunion you’ve been dreaming about. I don’t mean that as an insult to Oliveri, by the way; I’m just saying, the band made as many albums without him as they did with him. I’m just pointing out a fact. So everyone stay calm.

‘Cause the truth is, I haven’t made up my mind with regards to how I feel about this. Right now, the band apparently only has plans for a European tour, so I guess we’ll just take this one step at a time and see how it goes.
