Sleep Are Auctioning Off a Rare Vinyl to Benefit a Food Bank
Stoner doom metal titans Sleep are giving back in a truly loving gesture and auctioning off a vinyl copy of their 2021 compilation album Iommic Life to benefit a food bank.
The organization being supported is Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico, and the vinyl being auctioned off was signed by all three members of the band. All of the proceeds from the sale will go to the food bank.
The classic album features the band’s 2014 song “The Clarity” as well as 2018’s “Leagues Beneath.” You can bid on the record here. As of this posting, the auction’s raised $600 from 70 bids, with a little more than five days left before the auction ends.
Hopefully, we’ll also get a new album from the band soon. But according to Matt Pike, there is no clear timeline as to when the band will drop more music
“Well, we haven’t played live in a while and we took a little hiatus,” he says “Right now we’re just playing D&D online really, and there’s some surprises coming up, but I can’t elaborate or share on how that’s going to turn out.
“So you know, we’re talking and and working on stuff again, but it’s not come to fruition. It’s nothing that I can announce. You know us, we’ll drop a record in the middle of the night and no one will know it’s coming. So it’s … I don’t really give away those secrets because that band so odd. I don’t know what’s gonna happen myself.”
“I’m on good ground with those dudes and we’re talking about some cool shit. I’ll leave it at.”
So if you’re interested and want to take a crack at winning some super rare Sleep merch while also giving back to a worthwhile cause, be sure to make a bid today.
You can brush up on the album while you wait for a new music announcement from the band.
