Abrams’ New Track “Tomorrow” is a Mile High Sludge Tune
With a new album titled Blue City coming out on May 24, Denver-based sludge/post-metal outfit Abrams are releasing a new album next month and they’re back with a new single to get you excited for their sludgy/post-metal riffage.
The track, titled “Tomorrow,” continues to showcase the band’s fuzz-filled guitar sound, thick rhythms, and soaring vocals that they’ve had on display for a while now. That being said, it’s all in service of a sound that’s cathartic, contemplative, and would fit right in on a playlist full of Mastodon, Torche, and Baroness tunes.
Frontman Zachary Amster said the new track and record were the result of the band wanting to grow as musicians and songwriters.
“When we started writing for the new record, we wanted a clear shift and progression in our sound. We wanted to kick off the album and showcase this upfront with ‘Tomorrow’, featuring some soaring vocals into a fury of drum fills escaping into a psychedelic wash of bass-driven groove. The lyrics say, ‘Tomorrow needs you…’. It’s about not giving up and not listening to the bad voices.”
Blue City will be released on May 24 via Blues Funeral Recordings, but you can preorder your copy today. This June, the band will be heading out on shows across the country. You can find the dates for those below.
