Fit For An Autopsy’s Asia Tour Cut Short Over Visas
Fans waiting to see Fit For An Autopsy in Asia later this week are going to have to wait a bit longer, as the band’s been forced to postpone the last three shows over logistical issues.
According to a post on the band’s official Instagram page, they were unable to secure the work visas needed to perform in Hong Kong and Japan between March 29 and March 31. They had no problem performing the Pulp Summer Slam Fest in Manilla, Philippines this past Saturday, nor were they forced to miss their show at Mr. Fox Livehouse in Bangkok, Thailand.
Rather than paraphrase what guitarist Pat Sheridan said in the post, we’ve got their full statement below:
“Hey everyone, how’s it going?
“This is Patt from Fit for an Autopsy. I’m gonna take a minute to get some information out there about our trip in Asia. We have found out that we will not be able to go to Japan or Hong Kong on this tour as planned. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, paperwork, and timing. We won’t be getting our visa to go there. So unfortunately, we’ll have to miss those shows. We’ll be playing in Philippines we are playing in Thailand. But the Hong Kong day and two days in Japan we have to be rescheduled.
“We want to apologize to our Japanese fans and fans from Hong Kong. We’re letting you guys know that we are working very hard to reschedule those dates back. And we do apologize for not being able to make it for the circumstances that’s not in our control.
“So keep in touch with us, keep an eye on us on our social medias. And we’ll let you know when we are coming back Japan, we are really sorry we can’t make it. We love coming to your country.
“And Hong Kong, we were really looking forward to be here for the first time. But it’s just one of those situations where paperwork and timing are ruining everything. So we’re making plans to come back soon and we’ll see you then.”
So there ya have it — yet another instance of international touring being a difficult proposition. When you’re not struggling with merch cuts and exorbitant travel expenses, you’ve got to juggle multiple visas and paperwork just to get in the damn country.
Here’s hoping for the sake of Fit For An Autopsy’s Japanese and Hong Kong fans that they get their paperwork in order and manage to put on a show there..
