Rings of Saturn Double Down on Lack of Vocals
Rings of Saturn admitted in a recent podcast interview that they truly just have no desire to add any vocals back into the mix.
Project mastermind Lucas Mann told Die by the Click Podcast, which you can stream below, that they will be instrumental from now on.
“If you’ve been working on a project for 15 years, there’s a lot of integrity that you have in it, so you need to keep that close to heart and see the direction that you want to do it because it’s essentially your life, you know? You put tons of money into it, tons of your time, tons of your effort; you travel the world on it.
“There’s one day that will probably never come, and that’s death metal vocals. I’m just not into ’em. Sorry guys, I’m just not into ’em, so they’re not gonna happen. It’s like, people are like, ‘When are you gonna get a vocalist?’ Like, ‘Get a vocalist’ and it’s just like, you know, I’m over it. I’m just over it.
“I respect the craft. Don’t get me wrong! It takes years and years to develop. It’s a good sound, and I know all the hard work that goes into it because I can’t do it myself, you know? I respect it; I just, respectfully, don’t like listening to it that much anymore. So, you know, people move on.
He also doubled down in a similar message on social media about how much he likes the instrumental sound:
“We are never bringing back any past vocalists or adding any new vocalists to our music. We are making the music we want to create, and have moved on instrumentally. Thank you to all of our fans who have accepted this, and support us”
