Young Dimebag Looking Fan Shared the Stage with Pantera to Sing “F*cking Hostile”
You ever run into someone that looked like someone else you knew and you had to do a double take? I imagine that’s what happened for the guys in Pantera felt while on stage this past Saturday at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
Just prior to getting into the song “Fucking Hostile,” frontman Phil Anselmo pointed out a fan whose hair looked just like the late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell in his early days. If you’ve ever seen glam-era Dimebag, you know what I’m talking about. Anselmo said the resemblance was uncanny.
“Some people might believe in reincarnation and stuff like that. There could be a younger Dimebag right up front… Dude, just shake your head like that and everybody in the whole place will see it. Hey, turn up the lights here. Show ’em. Look at that guy.
“When I was first met Dime, his lid was exactly that length.”
The kid, whose name is apparently Hunter, was brought up on stage and after some quick banter with Phil, was able to join into the gang vocals for “Fucking Hostile” from the band’s iconic 1992 album Vulgar Display of Power.
It’s this sort of shit that makes live shows worth attending. You don’t know what you’re going to see or what cool shit’s going to happen. And regardless of the fact that it looked like Hunter had no fucking clue what the words were and he took his phone out to record the moment like a typical Zoomer, it’s definitely something he won’t forget for the rest of his life. And that’s all that matters.
