Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine Announce ‘The Poisoned Ascendancy’ Tour
Next year marks a big milestone for two major records and the bands behind them have just announced that they’re going on tour to celebrate. In a joint streaming event just moments ago, Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine announced that they’ll be touring the world next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut albums Ascendancy and The Poison, respectively.
According to the guys, they’ll be playing big arenas around the world, with the decision to kick things off in the U.K. Though there are no concrete dates at the moment outside of the U.K. ones below, we’re sure to learn more when the time comes.
Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck said he was surprised that it’s already been two decades since the albums came out.
“I honestly can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the release of The Poison, and what an incredible 20 years it’s been.
“I feel so proud of what we’ve achieved as a band in the last two decades and it all started with that debut album. The Poison is such an important part of our lives musically and personally and we know the massive impact it had on the metal world on a global level. This tour will be made even more special as our brothers in Trivium are also joining us on the road to celebrate and play in its entirety their stunning album Ascendancy.”
Trivium frontman Matt Heafy did confirm during the livestream that the bands will be playing the entirety of their respective records for their 20th anniversary.
“We’ve never done a single show live where we’ve played a full record of ours. We’ve done little features, we’ve done livestreams when people weren’t able to tour, so the fact that both Bullet’s doing The Poison and Trivium’s doing The Ascendancy is monumental.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. GMT.
Keep your eyes peeled on this post as more information trickles out from both camps.
