Slayer (YES THAT SLAYER) to Headline Louder Than Life 2024
Looks like Kerry King was either lying or didn’t know shit about shit because not even a couple weeks after saying a Slayer reunion was unlikely to happen, here we are — Slayer’s headlining the second night of this year’s Louder Than Life festival.
It will be one of their first performances in four years, with the first officially taking place at this year’s Riot Fest. But still, this is a massive headliner to get for LTL. And when you couple that news with the rest of the bill will include sets from nearly 150 different acts including Disturbed, Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch, Evanescence, Falling In Reverse, Breaking Benjamin, The Offspring, Staind, Till Lindemann, Chevelle, Dropkick Murphys, Halestorm, Gojira, Seether, In This Moment, Anthrax, Sum 41, Mastodon, Tom Morello, will take up five stages… this shit’s going to be insane.
Danny Wimmer, of Danny Wimmer Presents, said this Slayer reunion was the biggest get the festival could land for fans this year.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Slayer will be reuniting for an earth-shattering performance at Louder Than Life. I was at their last show at The Forum in 2019 and have been working since then to bring them back to the Louder stage! With over 140 bands on five stages, we’re celebrating our 10th Louder Than Life with the biggest lineup yet! P.S., come out and celebrate with us at TAJ this Saturday and we’ll buy your first drink.”
Fucking wild, man. What the fuck even is 2024 at this point? Does the world know what Kerry King has to say about this?! What does this mean for his solo project? So many questions! One thing’s for sure – Dave Lombardo ain’t involved.
Louder Than Life will take place over the course of four days from September 26 to September 29 at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Tickets are available at the festival’s official website.
