Gatecreeper’s New Single “Caught In The Treads” is a Crushing Assault
Nearly three years after the release of their latest LP An Unexpected Reality, Arizona death metal motherfuckers Gatecreeper are back with an absolutely brutal new track, “Caught In The Treads.”
Produced and mixed by the great Kurt Ballou, the track and accompanying music video both encapsulate the energy at the band’s live shows. Seriously, if you don’t break your neck on this track or feel the urge to open up a pit to this one, you’re not listening to it loud enough.
Chase H. Mason said the track is all about exactly what its name suggests. Big. Fuckin’. Tanks. Only more metal.
“Lyrically the song is about a supernaturally charged fleet of tanks that have been possessed by the souls of fallen soldiers. It’s about revenge and crushing your enemies. As soon as we finished recording, we started sneaking this song into our live set. We brought along our own VHS camera and had our friends film the shows where they could.”
