The End Of My Road (Prosthetic Records)
This one-man project, helmed by Eugen Dodenhoeft, just dropped its third full-length release. Described as an “amalgam of melodeath, symphonic and power metal,” this one took roughly five years of work from Dodenhoeft to see the light of day. It’s apparently got a more hopeful bend, as it “deals with finding courage in the face of depression and hardship.”
Ihsahn
Ihsahn (Candlelight Records)
Probably the biggest release of this week, as Emperor’s Ihsahn put together what he described as a “dual-layered conceptual album.” This bad boy has two equal parts that sort of interlock with one another, meshing prog metal elements with symphonic. You can read our review here.

As the sophomore full-length for Swiss modern metal outfit Illumishade, Another Side Of You seeks to envelope the listener with its soundscapes and massive sound.

The Obsessed
Gilded Sorrow (Ripple Music)
Doom metal Marylanders The Obsessed have released a real special LP for the first time since 2017. Described by Scott “Wino” Weinrich as “the heaviest thing” he’s ever done, this album is completely solid through its entire runtime. You can read our review on this one as well.
