Municipal Waste and King County Brewers Collective Join Forces for an Electrified Brain Beer
Fans of killer crossover thrash outfit Municipal Waste know that band for their blistering riffs, hefty rhythms, and the commanding vocals of one Mr. Tony Foresta. Fans also know that if there’s one thing Municipal Waste adhere to, it’s The Art of Partying. To that end, the band’s used their copious knowledge of sudsy brews to work with New York’s King County Brewers Collective to make a new beer that’s bound to send shockwaves through your brain pan.
Fashioned with the eye-catching art from their latest record, Electrified Brain, the new Municipal Waste beer is a West Coast Style IPA that clocked in at a respectable 7.2% ABV. Recently, drummer and son of insanely cool mom Dave Witte took the trip up to KCBC to see how the beer’s made and get some time with the people behind its creation.
“Going to the brewery, hanging with the KCBC gang, and helping brew the beer a bit was a lot of fun. I’m a real beer nut and I do love IPA but wanted it to be a nice marriage of West and East Coast styles. Basically, a traditional hoppy West Coast IPA with a little juiciness of the East Coast style is what I suggested. KCBC makes great beer so I had no doubt they’d be able to kill it. Housed in a 16oz can and adorned with the beautiful art James Bousema did for us for Electrified Brain, it’s a striking beer all around. I can’t wait for people to Taste The Waste!”
This ain’t the first time a band’s gone to KCBC to get their own beer made. Back in 2022, Revocation‘s own Dave Davidson showed up to the brewery to try their beer Netherhelles, released in anticipation of the insanely killer album Netherheaven.
At the moment, the beer is now available to order in 35 of the country’s 50 states via Half Time Beverage, though select dates on Municipal Waste’s upcoming ‘Brainsqueeze Tour’ will also have the beer on hand.
