Kittie and We are PIGS Launch NA Beer Brand KittiePIG

Have you ever listened to long-running femme alt-metal band Kittie and said “I wish this music was a beer” and then also said “But I wish that beer didn’t get me drunk”? If you have, then you’re a person with very specific needs, but you’re miraculously in luck.

Canadian metal queens Kittie and South African nu-metal nostalgia group We are PIGS recently announced their first collaboration since the release of the song “Moot” in 2021, and this collaboration isn’t music, it’s actually a beer. The two bands have teamed up to release KittiePIG brand NA beer, with their debut brew a Saskaberry Blonde, which is brewed with hops, barley, and saskatoon berries, a fruit that totally doesn’t sound made up and which is native to Kittie’s homeland of Canada.

In a press release reported on by Consequence, Kittie lead vocalist Morgan Lander says:

“I’m so excited for the metal masses to try KittiePIG! Brewing our own NA beverage is new and uncharted territory for us, but I think we’ve really created something delicious and decadent without the usual regret. With an homage to our Canadian roots thrown in for good measure with the added Saskatoon berry flavor, it’s certainly a unique taste experience beer aficionados and casual drinkers alike will love.”

We are PIGS frontwoman Esjay Jones then adds:

“We identified a gap in the market for non-alcoholic beverages that cater to music fans and health-conscious individuals alike. Market research showed that consumers have been leaning towards healthy alternatives, seeking out low-sugar and non-alcoholic options. KittiePIG’s aim is to fill this gap by offering a product that is not only desirable and delicious, but that also caters to fans as well as their wants and needs.”

The website for the brand says that the new KittiePIG Saskaberry Blonde has 0.3% alcohol by volume, so unless you’re about three inches tall you probably won’t get drunk off of it. And if you are three inches tall, you probably have more pressing concerns than your alcohol tolerance. No word on whether the ale will be available in stores, but for now you can buy the beer on the KittiePIG website, which also promises to have further merchandise for the beer brand in the near future.
