Jacoby Shaddix Threatens the World, Says 2025 Will Be a “Big Year for Papa Roach”

It’s looking like the widely reported nu-metal revival will be going at least until 2025. At least that’s what we’re gathering from comments made recently by Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix.

While speaking with 99.7 The Blitz (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), Shaddix said the band wants to finish out its touring and recording responsibilities this year before looking toward next year. However, a major milestone will be the major impetus for the band’s activities in 2025.

“Right now, early in the year, we’ve been working on a bunch of new music. And so we’re essentially pulling the slingshot back. 2025 is gonna be a big year for Papa Roach. It’s the 25th anniversary of our first album ‘Infest’. We’ve got a book, we’ve got tours, we’ve got the whole nine. And we’ve got a whole new batch of music that we’re going to drop. And so new music will be probably coming, like, later in the year — third or fourth quarter.

“It’s good to get a little calm before the storm, and so I’m taking this year and just creating tons of music, writing for Papa Roach, writing with other artists and really just being as creative as possible.”

Infest, as you may recall, is the band’s breakout album from 2000. That one of course had “Last Resort” on it, as well as “Broken Home” and “Between Angels and Insects.” As the record that catapulted Shaddix and the rest of the band to stardom, it only makes sense that they’d want to take time to reflect on it.

What exactly those plans may entail is still up in the air. Either way, 2025 will feel just a little bit more like 2000 if Shaddix and Papa Roach have their way.
