Allegaeon to Record Their Next Album with Founding Vocalist Ezra Haynes
Work on a seventh Allegaeon album is officially under way and it’s being done with a familiar face, as original vocalist Ezra Haynes will be back behind the mic for this one. You may recall, but Haynes temporarily rejoined the band last September after Riley McShane left the band the month prior.
At the time, Haynes only rejoined the band to help the band fulfill the tour dates they had coming up that winter, but it’s looking like things are getting even more cozy for both parties involved. Haynes originally sang for Allegaeon between 2008 and 2015, while McShane was behind the mic from 2015 to 2022.
Speaking of the recording process currently being helmed by producer Dave Otero at Flatline Ausio, Guitarist Greg Burgess said the band was amped at the prospect of getting things moving forward.
“We are really excited to get back in the studio with Dave and get to work. The album is shaping up to be a strong amalgamation of songs across the discography. Some songs sound like they would be at home on Formshifter and some sound like they are straight off of DAMNUM. It’s a very exciting time to be in Allegaeon and we can’t wait for everyone to hear this record.“
As for Haynes, the prospect of taking his experiences over the last few years and bringing them back to Allegaeon was too much to ignore, stating that things between himself and the rest of the band have never been better.
“It has been a decade since I’ve had the pleasure of creating a full-length album with the boys. The chemistry of this lineup is nothing I’ve experienced before and there’s a lot to unpack with this new album. A decade’s worth of experiences, and I’m finally ready to share it with the fine folk of the metal community. 2024 is really shaping up and I couldn’t be more excited. Here’s to lucky #7!“
The news comes just a couple days after it was announced that Allegaeon will be touring with Septicflesh, Decapitated, and Kataklysm this coming spring. You can find the full list of dates below and get your tickets today.
