At The Gates Suddenly Cancel Their Spring and Summer Shows
In an unexpected turn of events, At The Gates was forced to put the kibosh on their upcoming spring and summer shows. Not much information was provided as to exactly why the shows were axed, other than to say that “reasons beyond our control” were the main factor.
“We regret to inform you that At The Gates has been forced to cancel all upcoming shows in the spring and summer due to reasons beyond our control. Special info and refund options for ticket holders, please visit the festivals FB or web pages for more info. Thanks.”
As of right now, the band’s sole commitment to playing live this year is their previously announced appearance on this year’s Headbanger’s Boat. Unfortunately, the cancellations also mean that At The Gates will not be performing at various festivals later this year. So far, only Inferno Fest has issued a statement on the matter, though their input is remarkably similar to the band’s. Organizers said Gorgoroth will replace At The Gates for that festival.
“We regret to inform you that At The Gates has been forced to cancel all upcoming shows in the spring and summer. This also includes Inferno 2024. Gorgoroth will replace At The Gates.”
Having reunited with founding guitarist Anders Björler back in 2022, the band was working on their follow up to 2021’s The Nightmare of Being. Hopefully these extenuating circumstances don’t hamper their continued work on that album.
Without knowing exactly why the dates were canceled, we can only hope that whatever’s beyond the band’s control isn’t too serious of an issue and that everyone’s safe.
