OH YEAH: Bring Me The Horizon’s New Single “Kool-Aid” Will Bust Through Your Wall
No, it doesn’t seem like Bring Me The Horizon‘s got some sort of brand deal with the powdered diabeetus drink — at least we think they don’t… But their latest single “Kool-Aid” proves it’s not as sickly sweet as its namesake.
Released earlier this morning, the song’s got an accompanying lyric video you can check out below. Fans of Bring Me The Horizon have already heard bits and snippets of this new track, as the band has been teasing the shit out of it on their Instagram account and saying it was “coming soon” on their fan newsletters.
What we’d give to hear from some fans about their take on the track, as it’s once again showing that the band’s taking a heavier approach to their music as of late. Sure, it’s not as heavy as some of the other new tracks out there, but it’s got a pretty crunchy sound and even has a pretty sweet solo from guitarist Lee Malia in it.
It’s the band’s first new song since the band announced that it separated with keyboardist and percussionist Jordan Fish last month. Fish had been a part of the band for more than a decade, having originally joined back in 2012. At the time, the band posted a statement that sounded like things ended on pretty good, or at least professional, terms.
“Bring Me The Horizon has decided to part ways with Jordan Fish. We want to thank him for the musical journey he took with us and wish him luck with everything in the future. Meanwhile we continue to work on Nex Gen, with brand new music coming very soon. See you on our UK tour in January.”
Fish also commented on his departure, saying that he was “really grateful” for his time in the band.
“I’m really grateful for my 11 years with the band, and extremely proud of all that we have achieved together. I look forward to hearing what they do next, and wish them every success in the future. I’m excited to start this next chapter in my career.”
Fans out in the U.K. and Ireland should be stoked to likely hear the new track live, as Bring Me The Horizon will kick off a tour in that region with Bad Omens, Cassyette, and Static Dress. You can find the full list of dates below.
