Possessed Cancel Remaining Tour Dates Due to Bus Breakdown
In bummer end-of-year news, Possessed are dealing with a tour bus breakdown and had to cancel the remainder of their U.S. tour dates.
The San Fransisco band had to cancel the last two dates of their month-long tour with Nunslaughter and The Black Moriah. They will no longer be playing in Portland, OR or Seattle, WA.
“To all the fans, we are deeply sorry, but we have to cancel our 12/19 show tonight in Portland due to unforeseen mechanical issues with the tour transportation. We will reschedule a new date soon. Please see the venue for full refunds. We are all devastated that we cannot make the long haul to be there. We will see you in the future, Portland. STAY POSSESSED!!!”
But it’s not all bad news, as the band are working on a new album for us to look forward to in 2024. In a recent interview with Capital Chaos TV, frontman Jeff Becerra talked about the upcoming follow-up to their 2019 album, Revelations of Oblivion.
“I’m in the process of writing the new album which should have come out already, but the pandemic held us up as it did everybody else,”he says. “I’m just finishing up the lyrics now and then we should record in 2024.”
“I was speaking to Jaap Waagemaker from Nuclear Blast, and we have decided to record in 2024. I’ve also been working with Kragen Lum from Nuclear Blast and the band Heathen. I plan to set the recording date as soon as possible. Of course, you never know what’s gonna happen, so it’s best to strike while the iron is hot. So far, this new album is very different. I hope that people will enjoy it in a different way than each of the previous albums. Of course, I’m no stranger to doing anything differently.”
Hopefully, the forthcoming record will mean a lot more tour dates in the future from the band.
