KK’s Priest to Headline a U.S. Tour with L.A. Guns and Burning Witches
If you’ve been following the Judas Priest story arc for a while now, you know that former guitarist K.K. Downing and ex-vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owens teamed up in recent years to form an offshoot known as KK’s Priest. And just like other bands that went through a schism like Ratt, Queensryche, Great White, and others, you’ve now got two bands that effectively draw from the same well.
Just moments ago, KK’s Priest announced their headlining U.S. tour set for next year and it conspicuously both competes with the release of their former band’s upcoming album Invincible Shield while staying out of the band’s way when they too tour the U.S. Now, I’m not willing to go out on a limb to say the timing was deliberate, but it’s just worth noting how the timing works out, is all.
Slated to begin on March 7 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and coming to an end on March 24 in Glenside, Pennsylvania, the tour will also feature performances by supporting acts L.A. Guns (another schism band) and Burning Witches. For those keeping score, the tour begins the day before Invincible Shield drops on March 8. Again, this could have all been chalked up to how venues became available.
Speaking of the tour, which the band expects to have at least two legs before the whole thing is done, Downing said the band was excited to tour the U.S.
“It has been far too long! I am very excited to announce that KK’S PRIEST will soon have the honour of playing our first ever shows in the USA starting March 7th 2024. Finally, KK’S PRIEST metal is coming to my dear home away from home.

The sands of time have moved so quickly for us all, but I am sure we all feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of this nostalgic journey.
