Slipknot Announce 25th Anniversary European and U.K. Tour
Next year marks a quarter century since the Iowan nonet we all know as Slipknot crossed the pond for the very first time. To mark the occasion, the band announced a special European/U.K. tour for late next year they’re calling the ‘Here Comes The Pain’ tour.
Slated to kick off in Amsterdam on May 12 and ending on May 20 in London, the tour will also feature support from Bleed From Within. Percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan released a statement as part of the announcement, stating his case for why “maggots” on that part of the world should come out.
“It has been 25 years since we first played on the continent, and we’ve been back ever since. The memories I have from all those times are life changing, and we’re ready to make more. I’m so excited to bring our 25 year Anniversary tour to Europe and the UK. Be prepared for an energy you’ve never experienced before. It’s happening.”
There’s also apparently work being done on creating a North American leg of the tour, though right now only a handful of shows in the U.S. are on the books for next year.
This is the first tour announcement since the band suddenly ousted drummer Jay Weinberg as part of a “creative decision” last month. Since then, we’ve yet to learn who’s replacing Weinberg behind the kit. Though there’s been some speculation as to who it’ll be, we at least know that former Venom Inc. drummer Jeramie Kling won’t be the guy.
Tickets for the 25th anniversary tour next year will go on sale this Friday, December 15, but you can find the full list of tour dates below.
