Escuela Grind Release Crushing New Single “Ball And Chain,” Unveil New EP DDEEAATHHMMEETTAALL
Leave it to Escuela Grind to make your Friday morning louder and teeth-rattlingly heavy, because not only are they back with a new song, but they’ve got a new EP coming on January 12, 20214 via MNRK Heavy that’s sure to have some heavy as fuck new tracks on it.
The new EP, titled DDEEAATHHMMEETTAALL will feature four new songs, including the new one released today called “Ball And Chain.” A live music video accompanied the new track and you can check that out below.
Vocalist Katerina Economou said the new EP and single marked the end of a trilogy of EPs that highlights the band’s influences.
“Finishing this trilogy has been years in the works. We are so excited to release these songs as they are perhaps the best reflection of our live performance. The stage has honed these hectic songs to perfection. Originally we were going to have three songs on this EP, but we wanted to create another track that had a huge buildup. This eventually developed into this brutal song, “Ball and Chain”, that marks the point in our live shows where we have a wall of death every night. Lyrically, it references death metal tropes of murder and revenge, but with a decidedly feminine angle.”
Though the EP’s title may look strange at first glance, it definitely follows an ongoing theme with the first two releases in the series. Both PPOOWWEERRVVIIOOLLEENNCCEE and GGRRIINNDDCCOORREE were released in 2020.
