Kerry King’s Solo Band Has a Logo, Will Play Next Year’s ‘Welcome to Rockville’
Well, that was fast. This past Monday we reported on news that Kerry King‘s post-Slayer project was coming next year and we thought that was that for a while. But ever the contrarian (and likely due to contractual reasons), King not only unveiled the band’s uncreative name of ‘Kerry King,’ but he also debuted the band’s logo. You can see the logo in the header image above and on the band’s official Instagram page.
Oh and one of the band’s first performances will take place during next year’s Welcome to Rockville festival out in Daytona Beach, Florida next May.
As for who’s playing in the band, the only other member we know of is ex-Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph, who was seen recently on social media working in the studio. Maybe he’s doing some Kerry King work, or maybe he’s got some other project lined up. Who knows?
There’s certainly been some other speculation as to who will participate in King’s new band, with some rumors floating around that it would basically be Slayer but with Phil Anselmo on vocals instead of Tom Araya. That naturally should mean they’d get a different bassist, since it’s probably very unlikely Araya will thrust himself back into the spotlight.
Additional show dates and more information about the band will likely begin trickling out now that the name, logo, and festival appearance have all been announced. Only time will tell.
