System of a Down’s John Dolmayan Finally Recognizes His Rhetoric Cost Him Friends and Fans
When people started realizing that System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan was a huge right-wing MAGA chud conspiracy theorist, it caused many fans of the band to do a double take. I mean, we’re talking about an integral part of the band whose music absolutely has a practically Socialist political view oozing out of most of their songs, yet Dolmayan was out there propping up El Trumpito and spouting off anti-vax garbage.
Well, it turns out that when you pop off with some super unpopular opinions, there’s social repercussions that come from it. In a recent post on his Instagram account, the drummer admits that he’s lost a number of people close to him in recent years because of his political views, but says he’s not sorry how things went down.
“I lost people that I thought were friends over the last few years primarily due to my unwillingness to accept the narratives they are now questioning the validity of. Not to mention hundreds of thousands of fans who couldn’t handle my opinions here on Instagram. When you endeavor to help those in peril, or guide those that are being duped, sometimes you lose because of it. You do it anyway. And I’ll do it again.”
Look at that, everyone. That’s some prime martyr complex/victim complex going on in stunning 4K for all to see. The guy’s just trying to steer all the sheeple away from false flags and government bullshit like… wanting to help people fight a global pandemic or coming to their own conclusions about whether one old white guy is better than the other to lead our country.
I also find it super hilarious that for a guy who spouts off about free speech and bitches about cancel culture, he’s blocked the MetalSucks Instagram profile from seeing his page. Guess he was just unwilling “to accept the narratives” we’ve had over the years regarding his commentary — he just “couldn’t handle [our] opinions here” on MetalSucks. So sad.
