Holy Banter, Batman: Two Minutes to Late Night is Back!
It’s been five fucking years since the heavy metal world’s very own irreverent talk show and sketch comedy show Two Minutes To Late Night went before a live audience. In that time, we’ve had a global pandemic, a Tool record and a Metallica record, an insurrection, and too many Mötley Crüe scandals to count. To say there’s been a Gwarsenio Hall-sized void in our YouTube algorithm would be putting it lightly.
Yet earlier today, the folks behind Two Minutes To Late Night finally answered my nightly seances and ritualistic sacrifices by announcing they were bringing the show back to its old format in two months’ time.
On Thursday, December 14, the show will go on at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City with ex-Every Time I Die guitarist and AEW wrestler Andy “The Butcher” Williams as their first special guest back. The first show back will also include an interactive competition with audience members called the Mosh Olympics, the “hunt for a mysterious Tanya Harding-esque villain,” and a “special and secret live studio band.” Ooooh, intriguing…
For those not in the know, the show took a sharp turn in recent years by featuring star-studded covers of various tunes on their YouTube page. Seriously, there’s some kick ass tunes that you should definitely check out, but this return to form is loooonng overdue.
Presale tickets will be available tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST, while ticket sales to the unwashed plebs will kick off at 10 a.m. this Friday, October 13. You can grab yours here when tickets go live.
