Stage Fall Proves Gravity Actually CAN Bring Suicidal Tendencies’ Mike Muir Down

Let’s be real here — watching people fall down is probably one of life’s greatest pleasures. Like a nice loud fart in a quiet church, almost nothing is funnier than seeing someone eat it (as long as they’re not seriously injured). It’s even funnier when someone falls while tempting fate by running around on stage and singing about how they can’t be brought down.

And that’s exactly what happened this past Saturday night during Suicidal Tendencies‘ set in Ontario, California. The band was playing a show with Danzig, Behemoth, Twin Temple, and Midnight that evening and like most Suicidal Tendencies shows, you had everyone going hard from the get go. That included frontman Mike Muir, who was running around on stage, getting the crowd pumped up and bellowing into the mic.

As the band was getting to the chorus of “You Can’t Bring Me Down,” Muir took a stop to the front of the stage and well, you know what happened next. My guy took one too many steps and fell off the stage in what looked like one of those slow-mo “aw, shit I’m being brought down” kind of falls.

To the band’s credit, they kept on going while people tended to Muir. The vocalist eventually made it back onto the stage and continued the song without missing a beat, showing off just how much of a professional performer he is. He went on to finish out the set without any further incidents, though I’m sure he was acutely aware of the stage’s edge from that moment on.

This is very reminiscent of the fall that Chad Gray experienced during a Mudvayne reunion show, though in that one he was naturally singing “Not Falling.” You know, tempting fate. Thankfully in both instances, neither artist was seriously injured, so that’s why we can joke about it now.
