Bruce Dickinson Has a New Solo Album Coming Titled The Mandrake Project
For the first time in nearly two decades, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson will have new solo material out in the wild when The Mandrake Project drops early next year.
Though we don’t know anything about the album in terms of exact release date, track list, or any other bits of info, we do know this will be his seventh solo project since 1990’s Tattooed Millionaire and his first since the 2005 album Tyranny of Souls.
According to the weed-hating vocalist, this new album is the culmination of years of work, which has to feel fucking fantastic to finally get out there.
“This album has been a very personal journey for me and I am extremely proud of it. Roy Z and I have been planning, writing and recording it for years, and I am very excited for people to finally hear it. I’m even more excited at the prospect of getting out on the road with this amazing band that we have put together, to be able to bring it to life. We’re planning to play as many shows as we can in as many places as possible, for as many people as we can!

This announcement shouldn’t really come as a shocker to most Iron Maiden fans, as the band has been signaling for a while that they’re slowing things down as they get up there in age. Even bassist Steve Harris said the band’s mantra was that “it’s quality, not quantity” as far as new releases and tours are concerned.
Along with the album’s announcement, Dickinson revealed that the first group of live shows he’ll undertake as a solo act in support of The Mandrake Project will happen in Mexico and South America.
