Eye Am (Feat. Crowbar and Type O Negative) Say Their Next Single “Cryptomnesia” Will Be Out in November

Ever since June when they dropped “Dreams Always Die With The Sun,” supergroup Eye Am has been one of the more highly anticipated acts on my radar — and frankly they should be on yours too. Featuring Type O Negative guitarist Kenny Hickey and drummer Johnny Kelly, along with Crowbar’s frontman Kirk Windstein and ex-Crowbar bassist Todd Strange, the band already has so much promise given their collective body of work.

And though we know they’re currently working on new music, it’s always a waiting game to see what a band with such promise will come up with next. Last week, our friends over at Metal Injection launched a contest with the band to win an all expense paid trip to hang out with them in the studio if you purchase a physical copy of the single ahead of time. Yet buried in their announcement was a juicy little morsel — the winner would get to hear their next single before almost everybody else.

Now we know when the single will be available to everyone. According to a report by The PRP, Eye Am will drop the new song on Black Friday, November 24. Hickey said the new track has become something more than just a song he and his bandmates toiled away on for hours on end. To him, it’s become “an experience.”

“As a musician, it’s often difficult to listen to a song just for the enjoyment of it once it’s been completed primarily because of the many hours of work and concentration that go into it and the repetitive nature of the recording process in general. But, when I sit back and listen to ‘Cryptomnesia‘ all that seems to melt away and I fall in love with it again.

“The song is more of an experience rather than just another tune to fill in some time while you’re on your way here or there.”

If you’d like to get your hands on a physical copy of the new single, as well as a chance to meet the guys in person, be sure to head over to the Corpse Paint Records website to preorder yours today.
