Earlier this week, major metal acts Amon Amarth and Ghost kicked off their North American tour at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California. And while this run of dates is effectively a re-run of the two bands’ last time out on the roax1d, it was killer to once again catch them in action.
When it came to Amon Amarth’s set, it was every bit as huge and bombastic as you’d come to expect from the Swedish band. Lots of banging heads, calls to raise their horns in the sky, and of course instructions for the crowd to start rowing were had.
As for the Ghost set, there were zero new songs played live, but they managed to get a decent mix of tracks from throughout their discography. Over the course of their show, Papa changed his outfit 10 times, including four jackets, a set of bat wings, two pope robes, and three different mitres.
