Burton C. Bell Brushes Up on His German with His “Du Hast” Cover

0

Even though he’s been detached from the whole industrial metal front since his departure from Fear Factory back in 2020, vocalist Burton C. Bell hasn’t completely gone away. No, in fact he’s had an art gallery open and his solo effort sees him retreading some of his old material, even though he’s not bothered at all by his old band finally replacing him with Milo Silvestri. But that’s all in the past.

Earlier today Burton’s cover of the iconic Rammstein hit “Du Hast” hit the internet, along with major streaming platforms, ahead of the August 25 release of A Tribute To Rammstein. Naturally, it makes sense for a dude whose career was built on industrial metal to don his inner lederhosen and take a crack at singing entirely in German. Released back in 1997 on their Sehnsucht record, “Du Hast” is by far the biggest and most successful single in Rammstein’s discography.

Assisting Bell on the cover is Killing Joke drummer Paul Ferguson handling drums and guitar, with production and mixing handled by Mark Gemini Thwaite (MGT).

You can check out the full tracklist below, as well as Bell’s contribution to the record, below. A Tribute to Rammstein will release on August 25 via Cleopatra Records. Of course, maybe this isn’t the best time to release a tribute album to the band…
