Release Date Announced for Dio: Dreamers Never Die Documentary
There are few metal vocalists as spellbinding and talented than the late, great Ronnie James Dio. Having sung for Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and his own solo project, the man was a mythical presence on stage. Sadly, he’s no longer with us but a new documentary titled Dio: Dreamers Never Die has a release date set for September 29.
Spanning his life and career, the documentary will be released worldwide via Mercury Studios on DVD and Blu-Ray. Fans can also get their hands on a special Deluxe Edition of the doc that includes both the DVD and Blu-Ray versions, as well as a selection of branded Dio merch including trading cards, a lapel pin, and guitar pics, to name a few of the items. Every version of the documentary will also include an additional 20 minutes of footage featuring deleted and extended scenes.
Fans will want to check this documentary out, as it offers an intimate look into Dio’s life and close relationships with individuals like Wendy Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Glenn Hughes, Vinny Appice, Lita Ford, Rob Halford, Sebastian Bach, Eddie Trunk, and Jack Black, to name a few.
Dio: Dreamers Never Die was originally premiered during the 2022 SXSW Film Festival, but it’s also been screened at Dio’s widow and manager Wendy Dio served as the film’s executive director and said she had a specific idea when it came to putting the documentary together.
“I wanted this documentary to be authentic, for the fans to see the roller coaster ride that was Ronnie’s life—the good times, the bad times and everything in between, especially including events that even the most diehard fans would not have known about. It’s all in there, right up to the very end.”
