Ex-Dillinger and Every Time I Die Members Unveiled Their New Band and Dropped “30 Under 13”

There have been rumblings for a while now that the former members of Every Time I Die were going to put something new together and today we finally know what that is. And it turns out that not only are Jordan Buckley, Clayton “Goose” Holyoak, and Stephen Micciche working together, but they’ve managed to pull in Fit for an Autopsy‘s Will Putney and ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato into the mix to create something wild called Better Lovers.

Along with the band’s introduction, they released a four-minute single dubbed “30 Under 13” to highlight just how frenetic, heavy, and kinda batshit they sound. Puciato said the formation of the band happened at just the right time for him, having spent his post-Dillinger life working on solo projects and providing backing vocals for Jerry Cantrell‘s solo work.

“Jordan sent me some already finished instrumental tracks, and they hit me at just the right time. Those tracks woke up a side of me that I thought was fully extinct but was merely evolving and changing. To my complete surprise there was still something left in that area to dig at, and the vessel for it made sense.”

According to Putney, this new band is something that’s been brewing for a while now.

“Looking back, I’m so happy everything got me to where I am. The pandemic and the last few years made me hungrier and more grateful. This isn’t a hobby. This isn’t temporary. This is the next evolution for each of us. Greg and Will rejuvenated me and made me even more confident. Now, everybody needs to know we’re a wild animal that just broke out of the zoo—there’s no trying to put it back in the cage.”

Though their social media presence isn’t even fully implemented yet, the band announced that tour dates were imminent, so we’ll be sure to share those when they crop up.
