Motörhead, Megadeth, Black Label Society and Skid Row Are Joining Ozzfest in the Metaverse
Last month, we learned that Ozzfest would be going to the Metaverse as part of the Metaverse Music Festival, which takes place in Decentraland, a 3D virtual world browser platform. You don’t need any real knowledge of NFTs or crypto to attend: it’s free, no tickets or VR headset required.
While this all still sounds a little silly, Ozzfest has announced the first wave of performers and it’s pretty sick. Motörhead, Megadeth, Black Label Society and Skid Row were just added to the bill, alongside an Ozzy headlining set.
From the official Ozzfest Instagram:
OzzFest, the iconic global touring hard rock music festival launched by @OzzyOsbourne and @SharonOsbourne, has today announced its full artist lineup, along with a first-look of its much anticipated #OZZFEST experience.
OzzyOsbourne, @officialMotorhead, @Megadeth, @BlackLabelSocietyOfficial & @officialSkidRow will be topping the bill as confirmed acts as OZZFEST becomes the first IRL festival in music history to enter the metaverse.
Taking place on Decentraland.org on Nov 10th -13th with its own dedicated land parcel including two stages as part of the Metaverse Music Festival, OZZFEST will be free for all to attend, with no VR, ticket or headset required.
One thing this event is very obviously missing is young artists; when Black Label Society are the youngest band a festival that used to launch young bands’ careers to new heights, it’s hard not to want some fresh talent, especially because there aren’t even any in-person logistics to consider.
