Jesse Hughes Lets Slip That Queens of the Stone Age Already Recorded a New Album
We’ve already gotten some hints that new Queens of the Stone Age could be on the horizon, but a very close friend of the band and Josh Homme himself has been recorded confirming that a new LP is all but done.
Within the first 13 seconds of a recent Instagram Live post, Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes (aka Boots Electric) tells a fan that not only is his band recording a new record, but that Queens of the Stone Age “just did one.”
Queens of the Stone Age and adjacent bands have been making some noise as of late. Last month they updated their site and hinted at all sorts of things like a new album and an upcoming tour. During the two Taylor Hawkins tribute shows, Homme was on stage jamming with Them Crooked Vultures. It just looks more and more like the iconic desert rock band is set to roll things out.
I don’t know if Hughes was supposed to say anything about Queens putting out new music so soon, but it’s apparently not the first time this has happened, either. Apparently Hughes let it slip in the past that some of the Desert Sessions releases were on their way even though they weren’t announced.
Only time will tell whether Hughes was right or not, but if I were a betting man, I’d be comfortable wagering that we’ll get new Queens of the Stone Age either this year or early next year.
