Important Content Alert: Here’s a Guy Playing Fart Drums
It’s not every day I get to use my journalism degree for serious, hard-hitting content that challenges the way people think about the world. It’s not every day that I get to feel like I’ve made an impact. But today I get to do all of those things. Why? Because I have the glorious, incredibly important task of bringing you this video of YouTuber 66Samus programming farts into his electric drum kit. Oh yes. Fart drums.
The video starts off with a 66Samus walking us through the process of choosing a snare fart, as the snare is the most important drum in the kit, with him looking for “something that has a good mid-range punch and some crack.” The video continues after a quick ad for a mobile game (which you can skip by going to 1:54) and then dives right back into fart selection for everything on the drum kit except the cymbals. After delving through about two minutes of farts, we finally get to the good stuff.
66Samus starts drumming the farts out to different drumless tracks starting with funky farts, double bass farts, sexy farts and, well, you get the idea. But most importantly, the blast beats and drum fills come in at 7:35.
I have to say, though, as much as we have all thought about any fart instrument, I never put a lot of active thought into how varied fart sounds can be, even though on some level I knew in the back of my head. 66Samus put more effort into fart selection in this video than Lars Ulrich put into tuning his drum kit for St. Anger, and I honestly think farts could have made that album better. I’m sure I’m not the only one with that opinion.
Regardless, start your day off stinky and watch the video below.
