Machine Head Tap Drummer Navene Koperweis for New Album

0

Machine Head have once again brought in Navene Koperweis (Entheos, ex-Animals as Leaders, Animosity, etc.) to handle drums on their newest recordings. Koperweis previously performed on Words From the Sky, the three-song EP Machine Head released earlier this year.

Navene posted a photo on social media of himself in the studio with mainman Robb Flynn, bassist Jared MacEachern and producer Zack Ohren at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA along with the caption “that’s a wrap!” The same team recorded Words From the Sky; it’s not clear the extent to which (or if at all) recent Machine Head guitarist Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka (Decapitated) is involved in this effort. It’s also not clear whether all recording for Machine Head’s new album is done, or just the drums.

Flynn had previously indicated new Machine Head would arrive in 2022, With vinyl production lead times currently in the eight to ten month range as a result of supply chain issues, we can likely expect that album to arrive towards the end of the year (unless they decide to split release dates between formats).

We will, of course, keep you all posted.
