Fear Factory: New Singer Will Be Unveiled in Early 2022 With a New Song
Fear Factory will finally reveal the identity of their new singer when they “showcase” that vocalist with a new song, according to guitarist Dino Cazares.
The group’s longtime frontman, Burton Seabell, quit the band last year after Cazares launched a Crowdfunding campaign to finish their tenth studio album, Aggression Continuum, which was first recorded in 2017. Burton called the fundraising effort a “scam,” and distanced himself from the project, but his vocals still appear on the final product. It later came out that Cazares had previously acquired 100% of the rights to use the Fear Factory name in a years-long court battle.
Cazares subsequently made it clear that he wants to hire an unknown to replace Seabell. That person was apparently hired in August.
As to when we can finally hear the new vocalist, Cazares tells This Day in Metal:
“We plan on showcasing him with a new song. I really want people to hear it and judge it by when they hear it. Because if I announce who it is right now, then it’s gonna be, like, everybody is gonna give their opinion before they even hear anything. So I’d rather people give their opinion when they hear it than before they hear it.”
