Marshall Beck (Reign Of Vengeance) Releases Horror Book for Kids, The World of Horror
I’m way into the idea of a horror book for kids. My oldest is just six and cartoons of garden variety ghosts and ghouls are still entertaining to him, but there comes a time in an older child’s life when they become further intrigued by the dark arts. As a parent, what then?
Marshall Beck, best known as the mastermind behind death metal act Reign of Vengeance, has published The World of Horror, which he bills as a horror book “for mature children and young adults.” While that may seem a bit vague at first, we’ve gotten our hands on some of the imagery from the book, and it makes sense: the artwork is legitimately creepy and messed up in more than a basic way, but there’s nothing explicit about it. Show this to any 10 year old and they’ll likely either think it’s disgusting and throw it down, or they’ll be endlessly intrigued and become a horror fan for life! What’s more, the focus of the book is short stories, not the artwork itself, so summon up your best scary voice palette for your kid and get to reading these bedtime stories for some wicked nightmares.

This collective was assembled by (Reign of Vengeance/Rebirth) frontman Marshall Beck. It features story contributions and tales from Beck as well as many musicians and authors from different cultures around the world. Each different story utilizes a different culture’s monsters or boogeymen to tell shocking, mysterious, and interesting tales. Conjuring the old school nostalgic vibe many of us older Horror and Metalhead fans are familiar with from childhood… this collective is definitely nothing short of odd, interesting, fun, and entertaining.”
