Video: Toyah Willcox Covers The Velvet Underground for King Crimson’s Robert Fripp
King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp is back home from tour but continues to be content to let his wife, actress and singer Toyah Willcox, carry on with the duo’s “Sunday Lunch” cover videos on her own as he sits back and watches from the other side of their world famous kitchen.
After last week tackling “Goldfinger,” the iconic Shirley Bassey title song from the 1964 James Bond movie of the same name, Willcox this week sings The Velvet Underground’s “Venus in Furs.” Fripp sits back in complete adoration much as he did virtually from hotel rooms while on tour, perhaps contemplating when he’ll feel ready to pick up the guitar and participate in these videos again.
You can watch the pair’s latest below.
Other recent songs Toyah has covered for Fripp include The Doors’ “Light My Fire,” Divinyls’ “I Touch Myself,” Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” and “Because the Night” (Patti Smith, 10,000 Maniacs).
