Experimental Rock Legends Mono Drop “Innocence,” Announce 11th Album, Pilgrimage of the Soul
Japanese instrumental post-rock legends Mono have announced their 11th album in their 22 years as a band, Pilgrimage of the Soul. And judging from the album’s first single, the eight-plus minute long “Innocence,” listeners are in for just as much of an emotional journey — or even more of one — than ever before.
If you’ve somehow never listened to Mono before, here’s what you can consistently expect from these masters of their craft: atmospheric guitars, textured, measured drums, peaks, valleys, back and forth sideway shifts, and everything in between, all within the shell of an airy dreamscape. Out of respect for those of you who have listened to Mono before, that’s all I’m gonna say about “Innocence”… just press play, sit back, and get lost on the journey (they’ll guide you back home, don’t worry).
