Video: Metal Band Shuts Down a Wendy’s Drive-Thru
When it comes to viral videos at the intersection of metal and fast food chains, nothing will ever top “What the fuck’s up, Denny’s?,” a legendary line uttered by a hardcore frontman playing a show at a defunct Houston-area Denny’s a few years back.
That said, this video of a metal band performing from their vehicles in the middle of a Wendy’s drive-thru is pretty darn good.
Noah Russell, drummer for Vella La Vella, wanted what so many of us do on any given night (no, not a frosty); to hang out with his friends after they get off work. But in order to make that happen, he had to shut down the Wendy’s drive-thru on time instead of letting last-minute creepers put in large orders, trapping his buds in the shackles of the Wendy’s kitchen.
So he set up his drum kit in the flatbed of his car (is that an El Camino? dope ride) while his guitarist, set up with an amp in the trunk of the next vehicle, shredded atop the asphalt, including a rendition of Mötley Crüe’s “Live Wire.” This being 2021, footage of the incident has now made it to TikTok and gone insanely viral: right now one of the videos has got 953k views and climbing.
Have a look at two videos from the “show” below. No word on whether the stunt worked or Noah’s buds had to serve up a few more orders of fries.
