Glenn Danzig’s Next Cinematic Opus Will Grace Theaters in August
Glenn Danzig doesn’t learn from his past mistakes, because accruing knowledge over time is for pussies.
So despite the spectacular failure of his feature filmmaking debut, Verotika, the Misfits frontman made a second movie, Death Rider in the House of Vampires, a not-at-all-ambitious-sounding blend of horror and spaghetti western (because if some dumb dildo like Quentin Tarantino can fuse genres, so can Danzig, goddamn it). Danzig wrote, directed, stars in, and did the cinematography for the movie (because if some dumb dildo like Steven Soderbergh can do his own cinematography, so can Danzig goddamn it).
A trailer for the flick was released earlier this year; now Bloody Disgusting reports that fan site 7th House reports that the movie will play in select theaters across America on Friday, August 27. They don’t say as much, but if it’s a one-night-only thing, I assume it’s one of those Fathom Events screenings, y’know, like they did for Rob Zombie’s This Movie Feels Like Three Hours in Hell.
There will also reportedly be a pair of advance screenings in Los Angeles and Las Vegas a week prior. We’ll let you know more details whenever they’re made available.
In addition to Danzig, Death Rider in the House of Vampires stars Blockbuster Entertainment Award nominee Devon Sawa (Extreme Dating), Julian Sands (Bobbleheads: The Movie), Kim Director (the Geico Cavemen sitcom), Danny Trejo (Death Wish 4: The Crackdown), and Eli Roth (Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV).
