Ozzy Osbourne, 72, Still Hasn’t Gotten the Covid-19 Vaccine

As one of metal’s elder statesmen, Ozzy should be among the first in our community to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. In addition to age, the 72-year-old has all sorts of health conditions that put him in a higher risk group for death should he catch the coronavirus, a fact not lost on the Ozzman himself. Still, he’s unfortunately still yet to receive a single dose.

Speaking with co-host Billy Morrison on Ozzy’s own SiriusXM Boneyard radio station, Ozzy revealed he’s patiently waiting his turn. Despite expressing some initial skepticism about a vaccine last year, he said:

“I want to get the shot.”

“I look at it like this: if I don’t get the shot and I get the virus, there’s a good chance I ain’t going to be here.”

The two went on to make fun of various conspiracy theories surrounding the Covid-19 vaccine.

In November, Ozzy expressed a similar sentiment to GQ, saying, “I’ve got emphysema [a lung condition that causes shortness of breath], so if I get this virus, I’m fucked.” 

Ozzy’s wife and manager, Sharon, contracted Covid-19 in December and isolated from her husband for several weeks. As of early January she was given the all-clear to return home, but continued suffering from long-term symptoms of the disease.

Ozzy has reportedly been in the studio of late working on a new album with Ordinary Man producer Andrew Watt.
