New Corey Taylor Video Features That Guy Who Was in That Movie
Corey Taylor has released a music video for his song “Samantha’s Gone.”
The video does not make it clear who the fuck Samantha is, but does feature appearances by notable “That Guy”s Dean Cameron (Summer School, Ski School, Ski School 2, the It’s Always Sunny episode parodying Ski School) and Greg Grunberg (every J.J. Abrams project). Ace Von Johnson (the L.A. Guns guitarist who isn’t Tracii Guns), Jonah Nimoy (grandson of Star Trek‘s Leonard Nimoy), Travis Miguel (Atreyu, ex-Trapt), and Steel Panther (Florida superspreader events) also appear. The cast is rounded out by Tom Sandoval from Vanderpump Rules, a Bravo reality show about a family that can’t find their local Change of Name office. (And if Corey’s guitarist, Zachary Throne, also looks familiar, that’s because he was on shows like Beverly Hills 90210 and Party of Five back in the day.)
You can watch the video below.
Sez Taylor of the clip:
“The video for ‘Samantha’s Gone’ served two purposes: making fun of so-called ‘indie rock’ bands and getting all my friends together to hang out and have a good time. We all went back and forth between having fun and social distancing. Watching the first ‘band’ was great, then being fired from our OWN song in favor of Steel Panther was the icing on the cake – can’t wait for everyone to see it!”
“Samantha’s Gone” appears on Corey’s debut solo album, CMFT, which you already own five copies of because it’s Corey, goddamnit.
