Watch: Actor Jason Momoa and Primus’s Les Claypool Jam Together

0

Actor and noted metalhead Jason Momoa recently hung out with Primus mastermind and bassist Les Claypool for a fishing expedition and some good old fashioned jamming.

The Aquaman and Game of Thrones star has made his love of heavy music well known in recent years. He recently released a video of himself nerding out over Metallica’s S&M² release, once portrayed Ozzy Osbourne in a video, took lessons from Archspire vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron on how to scream, and hung out with Slayer and Anthrax on tour.

In a post to Instagram, Claypool noted that the two “had ourselves a grand ol’ time,” along with a photo of what looks like a fishing expedition in a row boat, a video of Les teaching Jason how to play the band’s classic track, “My Name is Mud,” and then another clip of the two rocking out with Les on drums and Jason on bass (doing a respectable job holding it down). The presence of a professional camera rig in one of the clips indicates perhaps the meet-up was filmed for an upcoming TV series or film.

Primus were scheduled for a special two-set tour this summer consisting of originals and Rush’s 1977 classic A Farewell to Kings performed in its entirety, with Wolfmother and The Sword opening, before the pandemic hit.
