The Best Metal Albums of 2020 So Far, According to the Staff of Metalsucks
Last week, the current regime at MetalSucks released our “Best of 2020… So Far” lists (read ’em here: Axl, Vince, Jeff, Motoid Man). This week, I thought it would be fun to see which albums all, or any, of us agreed deserved a spot on that list. Does the fact that multiple people who work at the best metal site that has ever been or ever will be all agree on an album automatically make that album “better” than the others? Of course not. Does it mean that these albums deserve a little extra publicity? Sure, why not.
A couple of interesting things to note here:
- Only one album showed up on all four lists: Intronaut’s Fluid Existential Inversions.
- No album besides Intronaut’s Fluid Existential Inversions got more than two votes.
Both of those facts make me quite happy. MetalSucks has always prided itself on letting people who like lots of different subgenres and bands have a voice here. Except for Limp Bizkit fans. I mean. We have limits.
Here’s the full list. After Intronaut, everything is in alphabetical order, because, again, they all got tied for votes.
