Black Crown Initiate Unveil New Single, “Sun of War”
Hey guys, guess what? I have taken on Black Crown Initiate as my newest management client! Axl joked that I’ve got the Reading, PA metal market cornered, whatwith my management of Rivers of Nihil, too. This new development means you all can look forward to reading my completely biased opinions of the band on this site a bunch in the coming months… just as you did before I managed them. I’ve been a huge fan of theirs since at least 2014, and even the year before that with the Song of the Crippled Bull EP, and I’m stoked to be helping the dudes out in an official capacity now. Queue up the “conflict of interest” comments from the MetalSucks hoi polloi!
In any case, in light of that, I’ll save you the superlatives of the ways in which I think the progressive death metallers continue to innovate and push themselves forward, and I’ll just leave you with “Sun of War,” the latest single from their forthcoming album, Violent Portraits of Doomed Escape, and let you decide for yourselves. It comes along with a nifty animated lyric video that features the entrancing artwork of Schon Wanner (above) and follows the previous single “Invitation,” and the demo of another album track, “Years in Frigid Light,” which the band released last year. BCI fans are gonna love this album, and I’m positive they’ll pick up new fans along the way, too.
Violent Portraits of Doomed Escape comes out on August 7 via Century Media; you can pre-order it here.
