Corey Taylor’s Solo Album is Finished
Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has been teasing a solo album since last summer, working on it sporadically whenever he can find the time. Now the charismatic singer has revealed the album is all done and recorded.
Speaking to Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale on today’s We Are Hear “On The Air,” he said:
“Right when everything’s starting to calm down, I secretly recorded my first solo album. I did it with the band that I’ve been using for my solo shows for years, and just a bunch of people that I’ve been working with forever.
“So, Jason [Christopher, bass], Dustin [Schoenhofer] on drums—from Walls Of Jericho, and countless other things—Zach Throne [guitars], who I’ve been jamming with for a long time and ‘Tucc‘ [Christian Martucci, guitars] actually, from Stone Sour and everything. All five of us did it. We went in, and we recorded 25 songs in about two and a half weeks and we did everything live and it’s dope.”
With Slipknot’s touring plans canceled for the forseeable future and Stone Sour inactive at the moment, the time seems right for Taylor to release the album. We will, of course, keep you updated.
