Suicide Silence Unveil Crushing B-Side, “Overlord”

Is it just me, or did Suicide Silence’s most recent album, Become the Hunter, quickly fade away after it came out in February? There’s no doubt part of that is thanks to the very unfortunate timing that saw all of their planned touring come down because of the you-know-what, but I also have to wonder to what extent some of the band’s fans simply checked out after the backlash against the widely panned self-titled album. Which isn’t to say the new album isn’t good! I quite liked it. But I dug the self-titled, too, so what do I know?

In any case, here’s a B-side from Become the Hunter called “Overlord,” which the band has given an official digital release today. And fuck, boys and girls, it crushes. Not only does it scratch the itch for heavy Suicide Silence, but the way they’ve styled the song, with a big ol’ dumb breakdown right in the middle, harks back to The Cleansing or No Time to Bleed. That, I have to imagine, will satisfy even the staunchest, arms-crossed haters of modern-day Suicide Silence! Jam it below.
