Members of Deafheaven, The Red Chord, and Doomriders Launch New Band Sexless Marriage
For the second time in a month, The Red Chord’s Mike “Gunface” McKenzie (guitars) and Greg Weeks (bass) have launched a new project together. I guess these dudes really love each other, even after all these years.
That they’ve maintained such a long-running relationship makes the name of their new band seem appropriate: Sexless Marriage, which is a redundant phrase if ever there was one (OH!).
In addition to McKenzie and Weeks (which also sounds like the name of a TNT show about two hardened-but-lovable PIs), Sexless Marriage includes Chris Johnson (Deafheaven), Johnson’s Doomriders bandmate, Chris Bevilacqua, and Mike Morowitz from Weak Flesh. Not too shabby, eh?
Based on the below Instagram posts, it would also appear that the respective vocalists for The Red Chord and Walls of Jericho, Guy Kozowyk and Candace Kucsulain, although probably just for gang shouts.
While we don’t know when we’ll be able to hear a full Sexless Marriage song, you can get a taste of the band’s sound via these studio videos:
You’ll know more when we do.
