Make Them Suffer Announce New Album, Stream First Single
Australia’s finest metalcore band, Make Them Suffer, have announced that they’ll release their fourth full-length album, the cheerily-named How to Survive a Funeral, this summer on Rise Records. Sadly, we don’t have an exact release date yet. Happily, we do have a first single, “Erase Me,” which offers the band’s usual mix of heavy-as-fuckitude and melancholy melodiousness. The track’s lyrical themes, as explained by the band, are also likely to hit home with anyone who has pushed away loves ones out of fear that they themselves are not “good enough”:
“‘Erase Me’ is a song about pushing someone away and raises the question: Is it selfless or selfish to do? It’s unfortunate that some people are wired to always feel as if they’re never good enough. The sentiment of the lyrics ‘I’ve broken you enough so don’t hate me, erase me’ demonstrates the quality of selflessness. In retrospection, it’s that same selflessness that makes you ‘good enough.’”
